Kula Moore is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Board Certified Art Therapist, and Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner. She uses both art and traditional therapy to help clients find their voice. Kula supports each person’s natural approach, and provides additional tools to help discover new ways of dealing with old patterns.

Kula started Art Therapy Houston to combine her interests in art, psychotherapy and wellness. Her early passion and practice in art guides her current work. Kula earned a B.A. in Studio Art and Biology from Baylor University and obtained her Masters in Art Therapy Counseling from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. She has worked in community counseling, school, hospital, and outpatient settings. These experiences have shaped her collaborative, creative and practical approach to therapy.

When Kula is not in the art therapy studio, she provides art therapy and psychiatric rehabilitation services to young adults at a leading Houston hospital. Kula is trained in Mentalization-Based Therapy and is the author of Mentalizing in Group Art Therapy: Interventions for Emerging Adults. As a guest speaker at numerous conferences and events, Kula enjoys sharing about her work and leading art therapy workshops. She is also an illustrator of children's books promoting multicultural literature in developing countries.

She joyfully lives, works, paints and plays in the great city of Houston.
